School Performance Summary

OFSTED

SIAMS

SIAMS is the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools. King William Street is a church school and this means that every five years we are inspected to evaluate the distinctiveness and effectiveness of our school as a church school, and how well the distinctive Christian character and ethos of the school ensure the development and achievement of the whole child or young person.

Music Development Plan

Our music development plan sets out how we deliver high-quality music provision in curriculum music, co-curricular music and musical experience. It also includes changes we are planning in future years.

The aim of this plan is to help pupils and parents or carers understand what your school offers, and who a school works with to support this, including their local music hub and other music education organisations.

PE & Sport Premium

PE & Sport Premium is funding provided to our school to enhance the provision of PE and sport. Our school decides how to use this funding as we are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made to enhance PE and sport in our school. However, we are held accountable for how we have used the additional funding.

PE and Sport Premium has five key indicators:

  • Engagement of all children in PE
  • Raise the profile of PE
  • Sustainability of PE with school staff
  • Broaden the range of sports available
  • Increased participation in competitive sport

We are proud to have achieved the School Games Gold Award in recognition of our achievements and excellence in PE and school sport.

Pupil Premium Funding

Pupil Premium was introduced in April 2011 to tackle 'educational inequality' by raising achievement and improving outcomes for children from low income families who are eligible for free school meals and children who are currently in care or have been previously. In addition, the school receives some funding to support children whose parents in the Armed Forces.

This additional funding is used to ensure these children reach their full potential, both academically and socially. Our school decides how to use this funding as we are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for these children. However, we are held accountable for how we have used the additional funding to support these children.
Below you can find our Pupil Premium Statement which  details King William Street CE Primary’s use of pupil premium (and recovery premium for the 2022 to 2023 academic year) funding to help improve the attainment of our
disadvantaged pupils.
It outlines our pupil premium strategy, how we intend to spend the funding in this academic year and the effect that last year’s spending of pupil premium and the Covid Recovery funding had within our school.

There is also a Pupil Premium Leaflet for Parents, which explains what Pupil Premium is, who qualifies and how we use the funding to support children in our school. We ask that you help us to help your child by ensuring that you have checked to see if you are
eligible for the premium money.

Catch-Up Premium

Catch-Up Premium is a one-off funding provided to our school to support our children to catch up for lost learning. The money will be spent to ensure that our children  will be able to close gaps in their learning so they can meet the curriculum expectations for the next academic year.

Below you can find our Catch-Up Premium Plan for 2020-21. This plan has been reviewed as part of our Pupil Premium Statement.
