Is your child born between 01/09/19 to 31/08/20?
If so, then you need to apply for a school place for your child. The deadline for applications is 15/01/24 for admission in September 2024. Further details of how to do this can be found on the Swindon Borough Council website.
We will be holding small group tours of our school during October, November and December. For more information about these tours, look at the Reception Admissions September 2024 tab to the right or contact the school direct.
Mid-Year Transfer
If you would like to transfer to our school mid-year, this must be done through Swindon Borough Council School Admissions Team and details of this process can be found here.
Admissions Criteria
Our current Pupil Admission Number (PAN) is 30 meaning there is one class per year group. This means a maximum of 30 children will be offered a place in our Early Years class. In accordance with Swindon Borough Council’s admission policy, a place will be offered at the beginning of the school year in which a child is 5 years old. All parents wishing to apply for a place at King William Street CE Primary School must complete an application form. The local authority deals with applications on behalf of the school and places are allocated according to the following admission criteria:
- A ‘Looked After Child’ or a child who was previously looked after but immediately after being looked after became subject to an adoption, residence or special guardianship order. A Looked After Child is a child who is (a) in the care of a local authority, or (b) being provided with accommodation by a local authority in the exercise if their social services function defined by Section 22 (1) of the Children Act 1989.
- Any child who has a sibling attending King William Street CE Primary School the school at the same time as he or she is due to be admitted.
- Any other child by distance from the school with priority for admission given to children who live near to the school. This is measured as a straight line from the centre point of the School site to the centre point of the child’s home address. (Where Parents/Carers have shared responsibility for a child and the child lives for part of the week with each Parent/Carer, the nearer address will be considered as the Home address’) Priority is given to those living closest to the school.
